E-waste Toolkit

EEP Africa, in partnership with CLASP, has compiled a set of resources to support companies overcome many of the barriers to e-waste management and recycling in East and Southern Africa. In this toolkit, project developers will find best practices for off-grid solar e-waste management, resources on local legislation, and recommendations for recycling services.

Sector Events

The Energy Access Investment Forum (EAIF) 2025 will take place on 8–10 April 2025 in Kampala, Uganda at the Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort. Hosted by the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) and supported by GET.invest, the event brings together stakeholders from the renewable energy sector—investors, companies, and policymakers—to build partnerships and drive investments in energy access across emerging markets. The 4th Kenya Solar Week will be held on 10 April 2025 at Emara Hotel Ole Sereni in Nairobi. The event gathers over 200 solar and energy sector stakeholders to discuss financing, policy, technology, and grid integration. RENMOZ 2025 will take place on 23–24 April 2025 in Maputo, Mozambique, at the Montebelo Indy Maputo Congress Hotel. Organized by ALER and AMER, with support from GET.invest, the event brings together local and international stakeholders to explore investment opportunities in Mozambique’s renewable energy sector. The Namibia International Energy Conference (NIEC) 2025 is scheduled for 23-25 April 2025, at the Windhoek Country Club Resort in Windhoek, Namibia. Under the theme "Leading The Way: Becoming An Energy Hub with In-Country Value," the conference will gather government officials, industry leaders, investors, and business representatives to discuss strategies for establishing Namibia as a prominent energy hub. Enlit Africa is scheduled for 20-22 May 2025, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) in Cape Town, South Africa. Organized by Vuka Group, the event will cover topics including power generation, transmission and distribution, metering, digitalization, industrial energy needs, water security, solar and storage solutions, and finance and investment. Renewable Energy Week 2025 (REW2025) is scheduled for 26-29 May 2025, at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Organized by the Tanzania Renewable Energy Association (TAREA), the event aims to advance Tanzania's shift towards sustainable energy by bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, innovators, and stakeholders to exchange ideas, form partnerships, and showcase renewable energy solutions. The Africa Energy Forum (aef) 2025 will take place in Cape Town, South Africa from 17-20 June. Held for the first time in Cape Town, the forum will focus on the theme “Africa United,” aiming to align Africa’s energy priorities with the G20. The event will also feature the Youth Energy Summit (YES!), gathering 4,000 young professionals, and host the Africa Cup Football Tournament at DHL Stadium. Learn more here.

The Lesotho Energy Access Dialogue (LEAD) 2025 will be held on 25–26 June in Maseru. Organized by the Alliance for Rural Electrification and the National University of Lesotho, the event focuses on improving energy access through renewable energy solutions.
